Dr. Clayton Falknor, MD is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of the eye. Originally from Houston, Texas, he worked as a chemical engineer for semiconductor producer Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. in Austin before entering the medical profession in 2001. He has been with Eye Associates of Colorado Springs since 2014. Dr. Falknor believes in providing advanced and compassionate medical care in an educational and collaborative manner to all of his patients.
In addition to providing the most up-to-date comprehensive eye care, Dr. Falknor performs traditional and laser cataract surgery utilizing the CATALYS® Precision Laser System, and implants monofocal, toric, and multifocal intraocular lens implants. In addition, he specializes in the treatment and surgery of corneal diseases including corneal transplantation and pterygium surgery.
Dr. Falknor is married with three sons and a Golden Retriever. He is a member of the major national ophthalmology societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the Cornea Society, in addition to the El Paso County Medical Society and Colorado Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. He is accepting new patients daily.

Having required specialist eye Dr.'s my whole life, I continue to visit Dr. Falknor who has performed Six out of my Sixteen eye surgeries. The results of which prevented a vision loss train wreck. It took a month to get an appointment for a cataract evaluation, but it was worth the wait. My initial screening, performed by an office assistant, was pleasant and professional. Thorough, gives detailed exam, good bedside manner. I am confident Dr Falknor has the expertise to provide me high quality care, helping me to understand cataracts and their impact on my vision. He was clear in his explanations and recommendations for glasses at this point to address my discomfort with night driving and these new LED headlights using both correction and blue light tinting, whose purpose and functionality he explained. Although I have cataracts, he also explained that, since I can be corrected to 20/20 with glasses, I can wait for replacement surgery. What good news. He took time to explain what causes double vision and even remarked that I would still pass the vision test for my driver's license. As you can see, he covered a broad range of care in this, my first visit.
The office is bright and welcoming, the staff is friendly and professional. I was seen quite quickly. And they have an amazing espresso machine.
I very comfortably plan to recommend Dr Falknor to family and friends.

Dr. Falknor has his Technician do all the preliminary tests. Then he preforms his tests as she records his findings, He then explains his findings to me and explains the course of action he would recommend and why! I find him extremely easy to talk to and very available to me for questions. I would recommend him highly for any of your vision needs! In addition, my YAG procedure with Dr. C. Falknor on 01 26 2023 was successful. restoring my cataract surgery to perfect clarity in 15mins! He is the best!

I had cataracts in both eyes. I visited Dr. Falknor about cataract surgery and decided to get long distance lenses. Everything went very smoothly. The first day after my operation my eyes felt slightly different, but by the second day I couldn't even tell I had an operation except that I could see very clearly and the colors were so much brighter and more beautiful. Dr. Falknor is an ideal doctor. He is very nice, very knowledgeable, and explains everything clearly.

I had Saltzmann’s nodules on my right eye that was reshaping it therefore I couldn’t get great correction in that eye with glasses. The Pinnacle Office is the location I had my first appointment with Dr.Falknor to determine if I was a candidate for cataract surgery. The front office person was friendly, courteous, and professional. I took a seat in the waiting area but only had to wait 5 minutes before being escorted by a tech to the back for preliminary testing. The technician was professional and friendly and listened to me when I told her I had a movement disorder that involved my neck which prohibits me from keeping my head straight and in a locked position for the tests she was performing. Once the testing was completed, she put drops in my eyes to dilate them. The dr came in shortly after. After an extensive evaluation, he explained the results and all of the options I had to choose from. Dr.Falknor was personable, professional, and took the time to explain EVERYTHING! I had a few questions which he answered with ease. I am looking forward to a long and rewarding patient/doctor relationship with Dr.Falknor.

Since my cataract surgery seven years ago I have been seeing Dr. Falknor yearly for exams and surveilling a cornea problem. He's an excellent surgeon (have the cataract surgery when necessary, it's life changing) and inspires confidence with detailed, easy to understand explanations of any eye problems. The north office of this practice is a bit harder to access than the one on Union Blvd. , but is a beautiful new building and the crowds of patients are noticeably smaller, which is great for pandemic times.
