Dr. Matthew Miller is a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist with expertise in medical, laser, and surgical treatments for glaucoma as well as routine and complex cataract surgery. He performs both traditional glaucoma surgeries and more recently developed minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries. In addition to standard cataract surgery with monofocal intraocular lenses, Dr. Miller offers advanced technologies including toric, extended depth of focus, and multifocal intraocular lenses to reduce or eliminate patients’ dependency on glasses and contact lenses. He has extensive training in comprehensive eye care and manages patients with a wide variety of eye conditions.
As a native of Utah, Dr. Miller completed his undergraduate and medical school education at the University of Utah, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society for his outstanding academic performance as a medical student. He then completed his internship, residency, and fellowship training at the University of Iowa, perennially ranked as one of the top 10 ophthalmology training programs in the country. During his fellowship, he was selected by the University of Iowa medical students as the recipient of the Fellow Teaching Award. He has authored multiple publications on the genetics of glaucoma. He is committed to reducing the burden of unnecessary blindness around the world and has traveled to Haiti to perform cataract and glaucoma surgeries and train local eye surgeons. Dr. Miller is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.

Online check in was a time benefit to me, Coffee available during the short wait, a very welcomed touch. No redundant questioning on history, meds, etc.
Wait time between initial screening and seeing Dr Miller very short. Information sharing between Retina Specialist and your office ensured an accurate treatment plan. Dr Miller spent the the time I needed in discussion of what was going on with my vision, didn't feel like I was on the 15 minute shot clock.

Dr. Miller is an expert in treating Glaucoma and has helped me manage my condition in a very empathic way while respecting my concerns and anxieties. I went through two laser surgeries on my eyes which has significantly helped with my ocular pressure thereby arresting any further damage to my eyesight. Dr. Miller was very pleasant and gave me a plan to deal with my dry eyes. Also he answered questions I had about having already taken Flomax, a medicine known to possibly cause problems during cataract surgery, and that it can be adequately dealt with by the surgeon. Great doctor, listened to all of my concerns and the infection in my lower lid and upper cheek looked completely different after a day on oral antibiotics and eye drops. Stye has not completely resolved but looks SO MUCH BETTER than it did when I went in 3 days ago!!

I had an urgent eye problem, and was going to travel, so needed to determine what the problem was (I did not travel). I was able to make an appointment the same day via the practice's triage specialist. Staff was courteous, professional, efficient. Dr. Miller was professional, very helpful diagnosing and explaning my problem (tear in retina), and referred me to another opthamoligist in a different practice for emergency surgery the next morning. He called that practice, got me on the "stand by" surgery schedule, and told me that the doctor who would perform the surgery was "great."

I went to see Dr. Miller on a referral from another eye Dr. What a wonderful 1st meeting! I can't recommend Dr Miller enough, he took the time to listen, not concerned about the clock, and was able to explain to me in layman's terms so that was clear. Just a kind, compassionate Dr..
